Causing myself a mischief

Alas it is true - I have caused myself an injury.

Whilst trying to be a domestic goddess last night for DT, I managed to have a fight with a glass and well, sadly (obviously) the glass won.
A trip to the Royal Melbourne and two stitches later.....
Moral of the story? I should never EVER be a domestic housewife! I should obviously just 'put the knife/broken glass/sharp object' down and leave cooking/cleaning/general adult stuff to the professionals.

Many thanks to the Royal Melbourne staff for being quick, friendly and not having a waiting room full of freaks (unlike poor Pasky's last trip to ER).

Apologies (again) to DT for having to deal with masses of blood and a girlfriend who doesn't like needles or Dr's.

Life is Precious

Too often when a person close to us has a health scare or even worse goes towards the light, we find ourselves saying -
Life is Precious.
We must seize the day, live life to the fullest, live every day as if it were our last, dare to make our dreams a reality; unfortunately how long does this feeling last? A couple of weeks, a month at best, then ultimately we find ourselves back in our happy little existence, barely daring to dream, not going out for dinner because it's a school night, the list could go on and on....
.
Humans are happy in their routine, often turning to look at their life at 80 and wonder where all the time went and realising all the things they have yet to do on their list.
Nobody knows when they will draw their last breathe, or if they'll even get a chance to say goodbye...... we need to reach for the stars constantly in our lives and live to have no regrets.
.
Love to ASB and family in this, their time of need
.
Lets Sing, like nobody is listening, Dance like nobody is watching, Love as if we've never been hurt and Live like it's heaven on Earth.

Blonde V Brunette

An age old debate.......

Have begun to notice more brunette's creeping into the crowds lately.
.
Alas the summer has fled and winter is drawing nigh, daylight savings is gone and it now looks like the middle of the night at 730pm, and blonde's are turning into a warmer brunette for the coming season.
.
But who really does have more fun?

Life is Lost...

So it seems that when one looses a wallet/handbag/phone/diary, we loose our entire life.
.
Our life becomes lost....
.
This happened to a good friend of mine Mary Poppins last night whilst we were out enjoying the Melbourne Food & Wine Festival. It is quite disturbing when you suddenly realise that your wallet is missing and you have no idea where you could have left it - especially over a course of some hours.
Of course everything then has to be replaced in the wallet, which leaves you without money, without identification to even get money and so many more annoying things!
.

Word to having a micro-chip system in our finger prints so that we never have to loose access to our lives....

I'm so Pretty, Oh so Pretty

The things we do and buy to make ourselves beautiful to men..... this will conceal this, that will enhance that, and that one.... ohhh that will make you smell pretty!
.
*sigh*
.
The things we do - the rituals we have
.
Word to beauty being in the eye of the beholder and more than skin deep!

Where the Music takes you...

Takes you to a brighter day..... to quote Neil Sedaka, and you know, it's all true.
Must organise to have my piano moved to my new house.
.
Word to music soothing the soul - God knows I need it right now....

Food Glorious Food......

It's amazing how much you crave good food and especially veggies after not having a choice of food to eat for an extended period of time.
.
I have given my first born child 6 times over to eat disgusting re-heated, badly cooked, greasy, salmonella filled food while working at the Grand Prix..... I'm fairly certain just looking at that sort of food could give you a coronary.
.
I was extremely grateful to Gailo for cooking me this enticing meal, especially when I wasn't even going to be seated at her table!
.
Word to your mamma's cooking......
.
***hmmmmm quite hungry looking at that picture - going to go and eat the container filled with more of that delicious food for lunch - Thanks Gailo!

This is the end of my life as I know it.....

and I feel FINE!!!

Thank god- the Grand Prix is over, and I finally have my life back!
Attached some nice happy snaps for you - photo's I haven't even taken! Goodness me!

Unfortunately there were no great photo's taken by me on the weekend (well except for an absurd pink car!) and sadly my camera is nowhere near good enough to even consider trying to take a photo of the racing..... oh well.
Promise to ensure that I get back into it properly this week as I know I have been extremely slack, and disappointing for the past week - disappointed in myself. *hangs head in shame*

all I have to say is word to people thinking your nice - strange realisation to dawn upon me this weekend.

It's Official

Yes, that's right - my house has officially been warmed!
A very quiet, civilised night was enjoyed by few in my new place of residence, with many games of pool won by DT and many lost by AJ....

An enjoyable surprise was then enjoyed on the following day - a lovely trip to the country to Yering Station Winery for a photography exhibition of 'Rock'.
I think I can create a photography exhibition of my own with the amount of photo's I took! I will have to create an online gallery in the meantime.
Thank you again to the award winning DT - whose surprises continue to render me speechless (which we all know is a hard thing to do!)

Thank you all for coming!

Upside Down - Upside Down

This is what life feels like at the moment.... every single part of it.
My back definitely looked like this last night!
My drive home last night from the olds was very much like this - I got lost trying to find my own house!
My brain is very much looking like and acting like this today... trying to get my head around writing an invitation for tender for an r&d project and well, me thinks my brain is trying to make it bigger than Ben Hur!
Bring on the extended weekend...............

Crisis!!!

It was a very tense time this morning for an hour and 11 minutes - my coffee cup was stolen!!!
I got into work, looking forward to a nice hot mocha to wake me up (don't ever move in with someone who has a dog, they bark and wake you up at 5am!!!) and alas, my cup was no longer on the kitchen sink where I had left it at 6pm the previous night!!
Let me tell you a rampage ensued..... with threats of stabbings, lots of pouts, sulks and promises that I would live up to the name on the cup whilst it could not be found!
People were running scared! (Although handy to know that people are too scared of you to play any practical jokes on you...... hmmmmm best it stays that way.)
Fortunately for myself it was found in the cafe, so was promptly filled with hot chocolate and returned to me. However I will be upgrading my mug to ensure that gps is installed should this ever happen again.
The crisis was averted.......... I'm not sure I could've continued my working day otherwise, it was grounds for me to go home and crawl back into bed.
oh that's a wonderful idea........ dumb dogs...... they should have their barks removed so that we can sleep peacefully!
Surely everyone realises that I need my beauty sleep?!?!
Sympathy to anybody else who has had tragedy strike them in the way it did me this morning... I hope that all coffee mugs were found........ sadly I've heard that some never return.......

Disappointment

Well all I can say is that I'm thouroughly disappointed. The terrible picture on the left is my camera's idea of taking a photo of the city skyline from the botanical gardens. Crap I tell you, just crap!!
Me thinks that a spot of shopping with Pasky might be in order whilst visiting to upgrade.
Duty free shopping here I come!!!
I found myself under the full moon in the botanical gardens last night when I took DT to see the Frank Gehry movie, it was all very pleasant and very interesting.
A lovely night was had by all...... Thank you for coming.

busy, Busy, BUSY!!!

WOW! what an exhausting 5 days it has been! I've needed to have matchsticks in my eyes to keep my peepers open!

All started "once upon a time" oh wait, no hang on, well it may as well have been that, because let me tell you 4:45AM IS NOT A NICE TIME OF THE MORNING!!! I NEVER want to see that time of the morning - EVER AGAIN! well at least not from the side I was seeing it.

It was a quick flight to Sydney first thing Thursday morning- a course in the Darling Harbour precinct -all very nice daaaaarling..... and then a flight home that evening.

Moving house on the Friday - up at 8:30am - although this time is only marginally better! Word to Gailo though for doing more trips up and down my stairs than me - even AFTER going to the gym that morning!!! Dunno how she did it.

Up again on Saturday morning to go to work - we had the Ferrari Festival (or commonly pronounced Fewawi Festival, but our great Mayor of Melbourne John So) in Lygon Street - "it was like Oh my god, so fully sik, I can't believe it mate, like oh my god"

Up AGAIN on Sunday morning to go to work at the Melbourne International Motor Show - it was SOOOOO exciting - I got sick of my own voice after heckling/hustling for 6 hours!!Yep, you heard me right - I GOT SICK OF MY OWN VOICE - I never thought I'd say such a thing either!
It was then on to the illustrious set of 'Ring-around-a-rosie' to be an extra..... word to DT who has now contracted lung cancer, but damn he made smoking a cigar look sexy, good work.

I want to say a BIG thank you to the Reverend and to PW (who managed to survive his liquid ordeal) who moved my house from one location to another.

*sigh* I'm exhausted again just writing this all up here...... I'm off to have a nap.... I don't even want to think about the amount of boxes left for me to unpack.....
