How's the Serenity....

It was a very quiet, serene Autumn day in Melbourne when DT and I had an outing to the Fairfield Boathouse.
We stopped just short of having a Jane Austin moment and decided it was far too cold to venture out in the boats, with the likelihood that I would end up in the water!!
.
Which ended up being a very safe thing, due to the torrential rain that started just after we'd eaten the last of our scones, luckily we ducked under cover to finish the hot chocolates (great hot chocolates Gailo - add them to your list!)
.
It's always nice to enjoy nature....
.
oh and apparently this bridge has neighbours fame as one of the characters almost jumped off it in one episode!
.
Useless trivia for you all today....

Interesting....

Interestingly enough at the moment I am finding a love of angles.
.
Angles in the way I hold the camera, or angles in the subject being taken.... they are everywhere ohhh and texture, I'm loving texture at the moment.....
.
these are the things really floating my boat at the moment.
Everyday things, on angles with texture and I'm in heaven!
.
Enjoy your angles....

Something a little Fishy

This is the latest edition to my work family.... a Siamese Fighting Fish by the name of Mee-Yow.
.
Unfortunately I can't get a better picture because the slippery little sucker knows I'm trying to take his photo and keeps running away from me......
Even when I put a mirror in front of him and make him ready to fight.... he just runs away
.
word to being a fish, life would be so easy.... although you wouldn't remember much of it with that 3 second memory, however on the up side everything would be constantly new and exciting!

Scar Tissue

Thought I'd share this horrible nasty scar I now have.... Gailo tells me I'm just being vain.
Considering I used to wear a massive thumb ring to hide the other scar (yes, that fainter scar is where I did the same thing 3 years ago) I think I'm now going to have to get a ring made especially to cover this one..... if only the swelling would go down.
DT told me that you haven't lived if you haven't got scars.... although I'm sure most people with scars a) don't have them in the same spot from doing the same thing twice and b) have much more interesting reasons as to why they have scars.......
Word to stupid scars

It's a beautiful city

At Last!!

Well it's taken a while, but I can now say that finally my house is starting to feel like my home.
It's been 46 days of living in the 'burbs..... and let me tell you, that's a scary thing in itself!
.
I still have no routine, I still get scared when the neighbours wave hello at me and I certainly still get scared up at the local plaza when I know that Nonna and Giuseppe are checking me out to see if my hips are childbearing hips for their son Salvatore!
.
But the house is beginning to feel like home and that's the main thing.

Inspiration

So I found my inspiration again.... I was beginning to get a little worried there to be honest!
.
I found it looking at this first picture, which is an entrance to a massive apartment complex which is a world unto itself.... indoor gym, tennis courts, restaurant!
I then realised that I hadn't lost the inspiration at all, I had just forgotten how I normally look at the world.
As I am always looking for what would be a good picture, I started second guessing myself ie: 'oh, nobody wants to see that, nobody wants to have a look at a photo of something like this' and that's when I remembered it's not necessarily the subject matter (after all these are just planks of wood/and metal bars) but the way I actually see the subject matter and this is what I like to show people and what people want to see from me - the way I view the world.
I then spent the rest of the weekend, looking through the camera the way I look at things....

Thank god the inspiration dawned on me again..... normal mundane, everyday things, captured the 'pasky jr' way....
.
Glad that's over, that was a scary couple of seconds!
.
Here's to looking at the world through your own eye's and not looking at it the way everyone else thinks you should.

UnInspired

Feeling extremely uninspired.
I think this is due to a few things.... mostly the fact that it still hurts to take photo's due to my dumb thumb.....
Finding it increasingly frustrating with my equipment however.... doesn't have the zoom and focus that I want and generally doesn't come up with the goods all round......
*sigh*

I'm going to force myself to be inspired this weekend - need to add more photo's to flikr and find the inspiration within myself again....

Easter Goodies

Well what can I say - 4 days is never long enough, although I think that no matter how much time you had off from work - it would never be long enough!
.
I managed to only eat these two little suckers for my Easter egg intake this year.... apparently my hips didn't need me to be eating chocolate.

Attendance at another good gig (after seeing Groove Armada on Tuesday night) on Easter Sunday - unfortunately however the Red Hot Chili Peppers could've made it an awesome gig by only playing 1 more song!!! I mean seriously, who goes to see the Chili's and doesn't want to hear 'under the bridge'?!?!
However; I think I've ranted enough on that subject..........

Diamond in the rough

Your friends are truly a reflection on you as a person. They are the family you choose for yourself.
The way they treat you, the person you are when around them and the sort of person they are really screams a lot to the world.
.
Catching up for a flying visit with the one on the left yesterday (she left me for a beach and warmer weather) really made me appreciate the friendship that we do have.
.
Lets appreciate our friends.... god knows we all love appreciation and could all do with a little more appreciation ourselves, so lets give it to the one's we love....

ohhh the Pain

Pain, Pain, Go away, Come again - actually NEVER!

The pain from this stupid cut is quite intense and no matter how many of these suckers I keep popping the pain keeps going (not to mention the worst headache I've ever had for the past 3 days as well!)

Annoying thing is that even though I will get the stitches out tonight, I'm sure the pain will still continue......

Word to not having pain in your life (of any kind)
